Jomi Frizz Water Filter in Review – How Good is the Modular All-Rounder?
In our water filter kitchen, we regularly test the most popular systems on the market. This time, the Frizz In / Frizz On series from Jomi was put to the test – a modular filter system that can be individually adapted and offers three different filtration technologies: microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration (reverse osmosis). Our goal: to find out how the individual variants perform in everyday life and for whom each system is best suited.
Construction and Functionality
Jomi pursues a flexible concept: The customer can choose which filter stage, which faucet, and which device design they prefer.
The Frizz models are available both as a compact countertop unit (Frizz On) and as an under-sink variant (Frizz In / Frizz 20).
All systems are of high quality, with components sourced from Italian production. Even when unboxing, it's clear: simple design, solid materials, well-thought-out operation. Assembly is straightforward, and connection is quick thanks to quick-connect fittings. A small note for DIY enthusiasts: Jomi builds its systems with metric hoses and connection parts - most other manufacturers use an imperial system here.
Comparison of the Three Filter Stages
Microfiltration
The simplest stage uses an activated carbon filter with a pore size of approximately 5 micrometers. This retains larger particles, sand, rust, and suspended solids, while taste and odor are significantly improved by the activated carbon. Minerals are completely preserved – ideal for users who only want light purification and value full flow rate.
Ultrafiltration
This uses a hollow fiber membrane with activated carbon. With a pore size of 0.15 micrometers, it also removes finer particles and bacteria, but allows minerals to remain in the water. The system operates without a pump or wastewater, is quiet (only about 47 dB), and achieves a flow rate of approximately 2 liters per minute. For us, this is the best solution when it comes to uncomplicated filtration and high convenience.
Nanofiltration / Reverse Osmosis
For those who want maximum purity, nanofiltration is the choice. The pore size is 0.001 micrometers – fine enough that only water molecules can pass through. In the test, the system achieved a PPM value of 5, while our tap water was at 289 PPM. This means: over 98% of dissolved solids were removed – an excellent value. The noise level is about 66–67 dB, and the flow rate is 1.5 liters per minute.
Our Practical Test in the Water Filter Kitchen
We tested both models – Frizz On and Frizz In 20 – under real conditions. The Frizz On produces its water directly without a tank and delivers still, chilled, or sparkling water at the touch of a button. Particularly positive: The intuitive operation via the touch display works reliably, only accessing deeper settings sometimes requires several attempts.
The Frizz In 20 is installed classically under the sink and operated via a separate tap or a five-way faucet. In operation, it is extremely quiet, and filter replacement is uncomplicated. Both devices left a stable, high-quality impression in the test – and that with moderate power consumption.
Water Values and Results
| Method | Tap Water | After Ultrafiltration | After Reverse Osmosis |
|---|---|---|---|
|
PPM Value |
279–289 ppm |
258 ppm |
5 ppm |
|
Noise Level |
– |
47 dB |
66–67 dB |
|
Flow Rate |

approx. 2 l/min |
approx. 1.5 l/min |
The result clearly shows:
The reverse osmosis variant delivers the cleanest water, while ultrafiltration offers the best balance of noise, speed, and maintenance.
Operation and Suitability for Everyday Use
In everyday life, both systems impress with high user-friendliness. Dispensing chilled and sparkling water is a real unique selling point – ideal for offices or households that often entertain guests. The systems react quickly, operate reliably, and look good doing it. Minor drawbacks exist only with the display, which sometimes reacts sluggishly in certain menus.
Our Conclusion on the Jomi Frizz System
From our perspective, Jomi offers a very flexible and well-thought-out concept with the Frizz series. The modular selection between micro-, ultra-, and nanofiltration is unique – the system can be precisely tailored to individual needs. Those who value absolute purity will opt for nanofiltration. Those looking for a quiet, low-maintenance system with high flow, however, are well served with ultrafiltration.
Particularly positive is the ability to obtain chilled and sparkling water directly – a feature that is still rare in the water filter segment. Material quality, design, and suitability for everyday use are of a very high standard. Apart from minor operational delays on the display, we did not find any significant weaknesses.
In conclusion, one can say: The Frizz In / Frizz On systems from Jomi are high-quality, quiet, and flexible – an excellent solution for anyone who wants clean, tasty, and readily available water.
