Arctic Source Water Filters in Review
In our water filter kitchen, we tested the popular Arktisquelle Water Filter – a compact reverse osmosis system with an integrated tank, which is particularly interesting for small households.
Our goal was clear: We wanted to know how quietly it operates, how effectively it filters, and whether the combination of remineralization, swirling, and bioenergy chip truly impresses in everyday use.
The countertop system is advertised by the manufacturer Arktisquelle as quiet, efficient, and user-friendly – and that's exactly what we wanted to test.
Scope of delivery & first impression of the Arktisquelle Water Filter
The system comes ready for connection with an integrated tank, filters, and the corresponding faucet. Everything is high-quality and thoughtfully designed. When inserting the tank, it immediately becomes clear: the mechanics are stable, the seals fit perfectly, and the system generally feels solid.
The design is discreet – perfect for unobtrusively fitting into any kitchen. However, here's a note from a YouTube user: because the water tank is filled from above, it's impractical to place the unit in a cupboard – just in case you were considering it.
Overall, the Arktisquelle focuses on functionality: robust, clear, hygienic.
Installation & operation of the Arktisquelle Water Filter
Installation is straightforward: insert the tank, connect the hoses, plug in the power – done. Once the internal tank is full, the system automatically stops the filtering process. The system regulates itself and is completely low-maintenance.
In everyday use, the Arktisquelle impresses with its intelligent automatic function: It starts as soon as water is drawn and switches off when the tank is full again – quietly, cleanly, and reliably.
Technical evaluation & functions of the Arktisquelle Water Filter
The Arktisquelle is an reverse osmosis system with an integrated tank and combines several important functions in one compact system:
- Multi-stage filtration: Sediment, activated carbon, and reverse osmosis filters reliably remove pollutants, chlorine, heavy metals, and microplastics.
- Remineralization: Valuable minerals are returned to the water via coconut shells – for a balanced, mild taste experience.
- Bioenergy chip: Neutralizes electromagnetic fields and ensures energetically stable water.
-
Swirling unit: Reconstructs the hexagonal water structure after filtration – the water becomes "lively" and tastes noticeably fresher.
This combination of technology and energetic treatment makes the Arktisquelle one of the most interesting models for health-conscious users.
The Arktisquelle Water Filter in practical test – Flow rate, volume & water quality
In the test, the Arktisquelle showed impressive results:
Volume: At only 43 decibels, it is the quietest system we have tested in the water filter kitchen so far. The quiet hum is barely noticeable – even the bubbling of the water sounds louder.
Flow rate: It took approximately 48 to 50 seconds for half a liter of water, which corresponds to a flow rate of about 600 ml per minute – exactly within the manufacturer's specifications.
Water quality:
- Tap water: 307 ppm
-
Filtered water: 23 ppm
This is an excellent value – especially since the system remineralizes.
Before remineralization, the value was about 10 ppm, after that 23 ppm – ideal for transportable but mineralogically balanced water.
The taste is soft, fresh, and clear – perfect for tea, coffee, or just pure.
Filter change & maintenance of the Arktisquelle Water Filter
The Arktisquelle also scores points for simplicity when it comes to maintenance.
Changing the filter takes barely a minute:
Remove the lid, turn the filter 90° with the supplied lever tool, remove the old one, insert the new one, lock it, replace the lid – done. Thanks to clear labels (PP1, C1, RO, C2) and markings, confusion is impossible. Maintenance costs? Virtually none. Everything can be done without tools and independently.
