Carawater Filtradoc L incl. Limescale Protection – Flow Rate up to 60,000 L

The FILTRADOC L was developed for central fresh water filtration in motorhomes, caravans, boats, and similar applications. As a fresh water filter, it is installed after the fresh water tank and treats the already stored water immediately before use. This further reduces potential contamination from tank storage, biofilm formation, or varying water qualities.

The filter cartridge combines four coordinated filter stages. First, a sediment filter removes coarse particles such as sand, rust, and sludge. Subsequently, an activated carbon block filter reduces chlorine, organic compounds, and taste and odor-impairing substances. In the third stage, an ultrafiltration membrane ensures the hygienic safety of the water by reliably retaining germs, bacteria, and other microorganisms.

Additionally, the FILTRADOC L has an integrated lime protection stage. Polyphosphate granules reduce limescale deposits and protect water-carrying pipes, fittings, and connectors. The system is supplemented by a special microfield fabric and an antibacterial coating on the filter housing, which further support water hygiene.

The Filter Process – Step by Step

1. Sediment Filtration: The water is first passed through a sediment filter with a pore size of 1 micron. This retains coarse particles such as sand, rust, sludge, and other suspended solids. The filter insert is washable and can be used multiple times.
2. Activated Carbon Filtration: In the second step, the water passes through an activated carbon granulate filter made from coconut shells. This filter stage reduces chlorine, volatile organic compounds, and odor and taste-impairing substances, thereby improving the sensory quality of the water.
3. Ultrafiltration: As the final stage, the water is passed through an ultrafiltration membrane with a pore size of 0.02 microns. This membrane reduces up to 99.9999% of bacteria, germs, and viruses, ensuring that only hygienically purified water is drawn.
4. Lime Protection: In the final step, the water is passed over a special polyphosphate granulate. This stage reduces limescale deposits and protects the water-carrying components of the vehicle.

Additional Hygiene Protection

The antibacterial coating of the filter housing supports hygiene within the system and helps reduce biofilm formation and germ development. After the filtering process, pure and mild water is produced.

In contrast to the FILTRADOC S and FILTRADOC M models, the FILTRADOC L has an additional limescale protection stage. Limescale reduction is achieved using polyphosphate granules based on the ion exchange principle. This reduces the formation of limescale deposits and protects water-carrying pipes, fittings, pumps and connectors.

Especially in regions with hard water, this can contribute to a longer service life of the onboard water installation.

The FILTRADOC L is integrated into the water line of the motorhome, caravan, or boat after the fresh water tank. As a central fresh water filter, it treats the already stored water immediately before use and supplies all tap points with filtered water.

The FILTRADOC L achieves a filter capacity of up to 60,000 liters, making it one of the most durable systems in the series. For consistently high water quality, the cartridge should be changed according to the manufacturer's recommendation after a maximum of 60,000 L.

The patented water stop in the filter head is particularly convenient. When the cartridge is removed, an integrated valve automatically shuts off the water supply. This means neither the water supply needs to be shut off nor the pipe system emptied. The cartridge change is quick, clean, and requires no tools.

Filter change – easily done in a few minutes

The filter cartridge is replaced without tools and can be done in a few minutes. Thanks to the well-designed bayonet lock, the cartridge can be quickly removed and replaced.

How to change the filter – step-by-step to a new filter:

1. Unlock filter cartridge: Turn the used filter unit to the left until it detaches from the holder.
2. Remove filter cartridge: Then pull the cartridge downwards and remove it completely.
3. Insert new cartridge: Remove the hygiene cap of the new filter unit and insert the cartridge into the filter head from below.
4. Lock cartridge: Turn the new filter unit to the right until it locks securely into place.
5. Flush filter: After the change, the filter should be flushed for about 3 minutes to ensure the system is fully operational.
