WOW Reverse Osmosis System Review - How good is the small water filter system from H.Preiss?
In our water filter kitchen, we tested the WOW reverse osmosis system from H. Preis – one of the best-known under-sink systems from the German market leader.
We wanted to know: How does the system perform in everyday use? How good is its filtering performance, how quiet is it, and does it really deliver as much flow as the manufacturer promises?
The result first: The WOW impresses with performance, easy handling and an astonishingly strong price-performance ratio.
Scope of delivery & first impression
Even when unpacking, it's clear: The WOW system is designed for durability and ease of use.
The housing is compact and high-quality, the installation is straightforward. Particularly striking: The system works without buttons or complicated displays – it functions completely automatically via LED indicators and the faucet.
The included stainless steel faucet has a clear, modern look and signals via LED when a filter change is due. Everything is well thought out, practical and adapted to everyday life – typical H. Preis.
Installation & operation
The installation is uncomplicated and done in a few steps. All hoses are color-coded, the connection is self-explanatory. A power cable, a connection cable to the faucet, inlets and outlets – done. You practically can't do anything wrong.
A special highlight is the tool-free filter change: Remove the cover, turn the filter 90°, pull it out, insert the new one, turn it – done. Everything is magnetically fixed and designed so logically that no technician is needed.
An integrated LED display shows the status of the filters at all times:
-
Violet means: change needed soon
- Red means: change immediately
So you always know at a glance when action is needed.
Technical evaluation & functions
The WOW system operates as a direct flow reverse osmosis system, meaning it produces filtered water directly when drawn – without a tank. This ensures maximum hygiene because no standing water can become contaminated.
Inside is a multi-stage filter system:
-
Sediment and activated carbon pre-filter for coarse particles, chlorine, taste and odors
-
CF filter and reverse osmosis membrane for fine pollutants, bacteria and viruses
-
Optional post-filtration with aquaSpin, H. Preis's in-house revitalization system
The aquaSpin is mounted between the system and the faucet and swirls the water, energetically treating and "revitalizing" it – for a more natural, hexagonal water structure.
Additionally integrated is the Ismael Protector, which neutralizes electromagnetic radiation in the surroundings. This keeps the water free from external influences – a detail otherwise only found in high-end systems.
Practical test: Flow rate, volume & water quality
In the test laboratory, we checked the WOW system for its performance data.
Result: Half a liter of water was drawn in 22 seconds – this corresponds to a flow rate of approximately 1.5 liters per minute. This is an excellent value for a household reverse osmosis system of this size.
The volume is also impressive: At just 55 decibels, the system operates pleasantly quietly – significantly quieter than normal conversation volume, but in the mid-range for systems of this size.
In terms of water quality, the WOW delivers top values:
-
Tap water: 313 ppm
-
Filtered water: 6 ppm
An excellent result! The water is soft, clear and absolutely pure. The WOW does not remineralize, which makes it particularly transportable and detoxifying – ideal for health-conscious households.
Conclusion
The WOW system from H. Preis is a well-designed, powerful and extremely user-friendly reverse osmosis system.
We were particularly impressed by:
- The strong flow rate of 1.5 l/min
- The quiet operation
- The incredibly easy filter change
- The excellent filter performance of just 6 ppm
-
And the combination with aquaSpin revitalization for living water
This makes the WOW perfectly suited for families, offices or households who appreciate pure, fresh water in everyday life – without any effort and without maintenance costs.
Our conclusion:
Highest quality, easy operation, strong price-performance ratio – the WOW system is a true all-rounder for anyone who wants to enjoy premium-level drinking water.
